The White House released the Trump family’s first official Christmas portrait on Thursday — capturing the president and first lady holding hands and smiling as they posed nestled between flags and Christmas trees.
But first son Barron Trump didn’t join, which raised some questions — especially on Twitter. Some users were direct.
“Where’s Barron?” many asked.
Others asked if the Trump’s forgot about their son.
“Barron didn’t make the cut?” one user wrote. Another tweeted: “Trump’s e-card seems to be missing what most First Families have. The Family. Have they lost Barron?”
The Obamas also released a handful of Christmas portraits that did not include their daughters, Sasha and Malia, although some photos released by the Obama White House also did include the girls.
But the card marks the second time this week when Barron’s absence has raised eyebrows. The Republican Party invited supporters to sign a Christmas card for the Trump family on Monday, in a tweet that featured a photo of the president and first lady, and all four of his children from earlier marriage — Donald Jr., Eric, Ivanka and Tiffany — but no Barron.
One possible explanation? Barron is the only Trump child still under 18.
Barron’s presence in the White House has been a hot topic all year. The question “Where’s Barron?” was first asked when he was conspicuously absent from certain pre-inauguration events. But all those who worried about his whereabouts were calmed by the time the actual inauguration rolled around, as the first son walked alongside his mother and father during the parade.
