First lady Melania Trump’s spokeswoman blasted Ivana Trump’s comments calling herself the “first lady” as “self-serving noise.”

“She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books,” the spokeswoman said in a statement. “There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex. Unfortunately only attention seeking and self-serving noise.”

Ivana had jokingly called herself the “first lady” in an interview with “Good Morning America” on Monday.

“I have the direct number to White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there,” Ivana said. “I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife.”

“I’m first lady, OK?” she added, laughing.

Ivana is currently promoting her new memoir “Raising Trump,” which features stories about raising her children with Trump.

Ivana Trump was President Trump’s first wife. She and Trump married in 1977 and divorced in 1992, and had three children together — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka and Eric.

Melania is Trump’s third wife, after Marla Maples. The couple married in 2005.
